This session is for current IEDC Basic Economic Development Course partners and instructors and will introduce the framework for the next evolution of IEDC’s Basic Economic Development Course.
As BEDC serves as an important entry point into the economic development profession and the broader IEDC learning ecosystem, IEDC is working to create greater consistency in the foundational knowledge and competencies introduced through Basic Courses while making it easier for partners to successfully deliver the program.
The session will provide an overview of the updated BEDC course framework and outline, expectations for future course delivery, and improvements to the partnership model. Discussion will focus on establishing common ground across BEDC providers while preserving opportunities for partners to respond to regional context and learner needs.
